Crafts, Market Life and History

During the main festival weekend—on Saturday, Sunday and Monday—a group of young craftspeople hosts a marketplace inspired by the Middle Ages (though it is intentionally not labelled a medieval market). The event begins with a public reading of the market regulations to remind guilds and artisans of their responsibilities.

Visitors can enjoy the lively atmosphere with the market crier, roaming tray sellers, and a variety of traditional crafts on display, including weaving, butchery, pottery, and blacksmithing. The Swedish camp and the Catholic League are also present, providing fascinating demonstrations of soldiers’ lives during the Thirty Years’ War.
